Near Ujarrás there are beautiful gardens and the Ruins of Costa Rica's oldest church which was built in 1693.

Near the town of Cashi there is the "House of the Dreamer" (La Casa del Soñador) which displays the works of late sculptor Macedonio Quesada.

In the town of Orosi there is another old church that was built in 1743.  There is also a tiny museum there which displays religous artifacts.
